Had a laugh at this. Devin’s new release Acoustic Levitation is the fucking goods. Give it a listen! H-Town veteran that says rappin’ like rap-a-lot.
Following on from the full-length album “KOLD HEAT” released late 2014, the team at Karsniogenics have put together a limited edition 7 inch vinyl release specifically for this years WRSD.
The A-side joint “PIG CITY” artwork pays homage to Brisbane band THE PARAMETERS “PIG CITY” track originally recorded at 4ZZZ radio and released in 1984. The release has provided it’s name to Brisbane author Andrew Stafford, (PIG CITY; from The Saints to Savage Garden) focusing on the Brisbane music scene and tracking the political climate from the 1970’s to the 2000’s.
The AA-side joint “MAGNUM OPUS” was a personal favourite of the artists and well received by 750 fans alike. To celebrate this release the crew has cooked up an abstract piece of visual art to accompany the song, which will be available via the Karsniogenics YouTube channel on our online preorder day, Wednesday April 19.
This is on the top of a ‘shit we missed’ list I put together over the weekend. Playing catch up ain’t no fun like when the homies can’t have none but there is a bunch of stuff that’s worth sharing as a reminder of how good this year is shaping up already.
Milano Constantine ‘The Way We Were’ produced by Dj Skizz and Marco Polo – holy fuck! This has been banged daily since release date, if I had to sum it up in one word it would be; “Cocaina!”.
The wave continues with a new video released today by LA’s dilated rainmaker Evidence. ‘Throw It All Away’ sounds like EV has been experiencing some gloomy weather of his own. He goes in with that signature slow flow style delivering a tale of taming the cyclone within. Alchemist provides the backdrop with a classic synthetic drum break and a mind bending string sample loop. No news on a new solo album at this stage, it’s been a minute between storms since Cats and Dogs in 2011.

Jake Biz, Overproof Pete and Gaz Hazard – members of Brisbane’s 750 Rebels and Karsniogenics Records – were recently given the opportunity to team up with Olympic boxer Brad Hore for his Keep Your Hands To Yourself campaign, a movement against the spate of coward punch attacks that have been happening in Brisbane’s night life precincts and around Australia. Not only are these cowardly attacks killing people in the streets they are affecting our night life precincts with stringent and ineffective lock-out laws.
Keep Ya Hands To Yourself is Produced by Overproof Pete aka Brookes Cullings and recorded at Gullywood Studios.
Video filmed by 750 Rebels collaborator Dolan for DF Des1gn. For videography and filmwork please contact Dolan at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Thank you to all our friends in the hip hop community across Australia for being involved. Too many to name but thank you all for being involved!
Special thanks to Gareth and all the boxers from the Boxing Shop.
Keep Ya Hands To Yourself and help stop the madness.
Just watch & listen to how it’s done! Kuntz say Hip Hop is dead! Well it’s the legends still doin’ it proper. BPM’s and lyrical warfare to tear apart ya despair!!
As the weekend approaches so too does another World Record Store Day. For many, it’s kind of like Valentine’s Day and other gimmick orientated days – why should we be told to show love on one day specifically, and not all year round? As many diggers are 365 and dedicated to finding that hidden gem in dusty crates, many do not subscribe to this day. Well, fuck that! I love it. It’s a great celebration of all things music, culture, independence and a kunt load of piss with good mates! Sounds dope to me!
So as many rush out to buy that 20th edition of Dilla’s Fuck Tha Police, Illmatic, Operation Doomsday & a slew of other re-re-re-releases, keep one thing in mind – it’s an ace day and a great excuse to see many friends in various spots throughout your city you may not have seen in a hot minute. Great live performances from MC’s, DJ’s & limited edition wax will be the flavour of the day. To all the diggers & hanger-on-ers, enjoy your day! I certainly will.
Here is a select few events happening in the Melbourne Hip Hop scene. For more info on your city hit this link…
Haven’t really had much of an opportunity to get on here and talk about other peoples rap talk, arrange any DSTT for the year or edit the clusterfuck of interview footage I got on hand but it’s all there ready and waiting to be done. It’s worth waiting on. For a good part of the end of last year, life (as we all know) put on the full court press and didn’t let me get the outlet pass for the buckets haha.
Due to this, I missed a lot of new music. Aside from the face album, which is nothing short of awesome I haven’t actively sought out anything or really been feeling much so I’ve fallen back to my staples.
Thankfully, the new ways of finding out about things, sent me my feed to which I was graced with this new joint by Rozewood. Have enjoyed some his past work but I’m really feeling this one. DJ Skizz’s laid back beat is perfect. “Death/Life, everything will come together” to kick the hook off. Works!
I guess after tasting the sour so often you learn to appreciate sweetness when it comes round…With so much going in life it’s refreshing to connect on something with someone over the other side of the world saying real shit with conviction.
I still be about that brolic ignat shit that makes you wanna belt a fucks face in but this caught my vibe today.
Give it a listen.
