Milano – The Way We Were

This is on the top of a ‘shit we missed’ list I put together over the weekend. Playing catch up ain’t no fun like when the homies can’t have none but there is a bunch of stuff that’s worth sharing as a reminder of how good this year is shaping up already.

Milano Constantine ‘The Way We Were’ produced by Dj Skizz and Marco Polo – holy fuck! This has been banged daily since release date, if I had to sum it up in one word it would be; “Cocaina!”.

Evidence – Throw It All Away

The wave continues with a new video released today by LA’s dilated rainmaker Evidence. ‘Throw It All Away’ sounds like EV has been experiencing some gloomy weather of his own. He goes in with that signature slow flow style delivering a tale of taming the cyclone within. Alchemist provides the backdrop with a classic synthetic drum break and a mind bending string sample loop. No news on a new solo album at this stage, it’s been a minute between storms since Cats and Dogs in 2011.

The clip is a straight to camera piece, but when you have 2 M.C’s firing like this, keep it simple stupid. Straight up heat!!!!! Dr. Yen Lo – Day 3

KA and Preservation drop another jewel exactly 1 month after the first for the upcoming release Days with Dr. Yen Lo. Some people can’t get into him but personally I’ve been a big fan of KA. Even though he’s got a laid back flow it’s mad aggressive and abrasive in it’s delivery at times with his back ups, which is dope. Minimalistic beats with selective tones create a sick backdrop for him..His handywork with the camera and the B&W edits give his work an additional depth in my opinion.

A true poet with originality in league of his own..
